Nasturtiums were great - bear's britches good as usual
Planted a couple of small trees and 3 standard bays continue to thrive. Lots of compost added McNeil Road and cycle track 23 did very well For just under a year I have been collecting used coffee grounds from Camberwell Coffee shops – and am extending the scope of this
Probably one of the best summers in Stories Mews - a combination of early rain and then sun...
17 kg of coffee a week from the Lumberjack Cafe has been recycled over the last 6 months - most makes compost and some goes in the mews... At last the fine weather has brought on the planting. Acanthus, periwinkle and euphorbia providing the early colour. I've planted the usual meadow mix, forget--me-nots are less good than last year. We are winning in taking the planting further west on the ground that is very dry. The borage clone is still a weed that needs continual weeding. The knotweed is sprouting - I've been depriving it of growth above ground - but without industrial chemicals - or rubber backed carpet any improvement is just an illusion.
We are going to dig up some parts of McNeil road and generally plant things on Sunday morning.19 June.
This coincides with the Camberwell open gardens afternoon Planting probably on Sunday morning.bring something and dog it in Planted a few nasturtiums, tidied up after the skip
Sedum doing well as are the acanthus Bay trees starting to grow - I will make them into standards. lots of rubbish at the moment.people keep parking on the laurel.once a fine bush...now almost dead.will tidy up the solanum tomorrow.
